Yes, you can sit by your computer and still get those WhatsApp messages with these simple steps.
Often, you’ll be working on your computer and need to see or answer a WhatsApp message, whether work-related or not, and it’s very distracting to keep on needing to open your phone for those messages.
There are a few ways you can see your messages on your desktop.
1. Download the WhatsApp desktop app for Windows or Mac
Press here to download the program. Once it downloads open the file, and wait till it installs. Then follow the steps on-screen to connect your app on your phone to the program on your computer!
Now, you can put away the phone, and get things done all on your computer.
Keep in mind that WhatsApp on your desktop will show you all the messages from your phone, but it is not instead of your phone. It will only work if your phone is on and connected to wifi or data. If your phone turns off the messaged will not show on your computer
2. Open WhatsApp directly in the browser.
If you want to download a program on your computer, or you happen to find yourself using a borrowed computer, you can open your messages directly in the browser by going to WhatsApp Web.
Similar to the program it will only work when the phone is on and connected to the wifi or data.
Don’t forget to disconnect your phone from the web version when you are done, otherwise, your phone will still be connected on that computer on the WhatsApp Web version.
You can disconnect it by pressing on the three dots at the top left, and press “Log out”
iPad
This would also work for an iPad where there is no official WhatsApp app on the App Store. You can find unofficial WhatsApp apps on the App Store that would work like the 1st method we mentioned.
3. Use WhatsApp on your phone WITHOUT having WhatsApp on your phone.
Whether you have a smartphone or not, you can still have WhatsApp just on your computer, without any need to have the app on your phone or even a smartphone.
You can download an Android emulator like BlueStacks which basically installs an Android smartphone on your computer, which you can then install the WhatsApp app, the same way you would on a smartphone, and connect it with your number. Now, whenever someone sends you a message it will only come to your computer through the BlueStacks program.
This program is very ‘heavy’ and can slow down the computer when it’s running with too many programs open on your computer, though the effect would vary depending on the specs of your computer.
